Well, she did it! She said she wanted to go home, so she made it happen. It was sort of a surreal experience for her, and for the rest of us. Although Kaiser has kind of become "home" over the past few months, we know that there is no comparison to the comfort and familiarity that is Union Street.
Donald the nutcase nurse, another RN, EMT RN, and Cathy the Respiratory Coordinator who has been a SAINT.
Tears were shed by family and staff as the EMT team came to take her away and bring her to her destination.
Been watching the clock all morning! Now it's 1:30 and I'm buckled up and ready to go HOME!
Peace out, Kaiser!
Hello, Union Street!
Tina: "Everyone is getting a kiss today!"
And they did. Even the EMTs...
Matt, Carmen, and Diane
Leo doing jumping jacks before he transports Grandma.
Going up!
A bouquet of flowers that Tina picked from Grandma's garden that morning...
...and Grandma's reaction to it.
Her view. Literally once she sat down in her chair and was all hooked up, she told Tina, "Make them coffee, and call your mother. Tell her I'm home."

She's home and she's happy. Grandma, you are the strongest woman. Ever.
We love you!
